The short answer:
iPhones: Yes, you can share images using the share extension on iPhone
Android: No, we do not support share sheet. You can still post images by opening up the Yapp app and creating a new post directly on the Social Feed page you'd like to post too
On iOS, you can now select Yapp from the list of apps when opening the share sheet. Before you get started, make sure you have the Yapp app installed on your device, that you are logged in, and that you have installed the app you are posting to. Once you are set up, here's how you can use it:
Open up the app and create or select your photo
Tap the share button. Often the Share button will be represented by an icon of a square with an arrow pointing upwards.
In the app list, tap "Yapp" (See below if the Yapp icon is not listed)
Enter the text that you want to include with your post, if any.
Make sure to select the right App and Feed you want to post to. (Tap on them to change the destination of your post if necessary. We let you choose all of that apps and feed pages that you have permissions to post to. If you only have one, you don't need to worry!)
Tap "Post" π You will get a notification that your post is being created, then another notification once the process is complete.
The posting process happens in the background, and can be slow sometimes. If you tap a notification or open Yapp while a background upload is happening, it will speed up the process and finish the upload promptly.
The share function works from the Photos app and many other media editing apps. However, not all of them offer their data in a compatible format. If you attempt to share from an incompatible app, Yapp will not show up as a shareable option. In most cases, if an incompatible app offers a "save to device" option you can use that. Once you have the photo save, you can open it in the Photos app and share it from there. If there is a certain incompatible app you would like to share from, let us know!
How to add the Yapp app to the list of apps in your share sheet
If Yapp does not show up in the list of apps in your share sheet, first, make sure you're using the latest version of our iOS app. Once up to date, you can customize which apps appear (and in what order). Scroll all the way to the right and tap the "More" icon. You should see Yapp in the full list of apps there.
